Made with love and tradition.
Luk Pra Kob (Thai Herbal Compress)
Thai Herbal Compress therapy is available as an add-on to your massage session.
Each herbal compress is handcrafted in small batches using carefully selected medicinal herbs. Because I personally prepare these compresses, availability may vary from batch to batch. Current batches will be listed online and identified by batch number. In the event that a batch becomes unavailable before your appointment, I will contact you as soon as possible with an update.
I also keep authentic herbal compresses sourced directly from Thailand on hand as a backup when needed.
These traditional compresses contain many of the same beneficial herbs as my handmade blends, along with some ingredients that can be more difficult to obtain in the United States, including plai (Thai ginger) and kaffir lime.
A Traditional Healing Practice
Thai Herbal Compress therapy has been used alongside massage in Thailand for generations and has been influenced by both Ayurvedic and Traditional Chinese Medicine practices. The compresses are steamed and then rhythmically applied to the body, allowing warmth, moisture and herbal properties to penetrate deeply into the tissues.
The combination of therapeutic heat and aromatic herbs can help:
-
Relax tense muscles
-
Ease aches and discomfort
-
Encourage healthy circulation
-
Support lymphatic flow
-
Promote deep relaxation and overall well-being
-
Complement energy line work used in traditional Thai healing arts
Many clients also find the natural herbal aroma to be calming and restorative.
What to Expect
The compress may be applied directly to the skin or over clothing, depending on the treatment and your comfort level. Both methods are effective.
Please wear dark-colored clothing if receiving a Thai massage with herbal compresses, as some ingredients will cause stains.
Reuse and Storage
Your herbal compress can typically be reused several times when properly cared for.
Many clients receive 4-6 additional uses after the initial treatment.
If you receive herbal compress treatments regularly, you may choose to store your compress in the studio freezer between sessions at no additional charge until it reaches the end of its usable life. You may also take it home and store it in your freezer for future use, either frozen or steamed according to your preference.
Pricing may vary slightly depending on the herbs used and the cost of ingredients.
I am honored to share in this beautiful, healing lineage as part of your wellness journey.
