A Traditional Healing Practice
Thai Herbal Compress therapy has been used alongside massage in Thailand for generations, influenced by both Ayurvedic and Traditional Chinese Medicine practices. The compresses are steamed and then rhythmically applied to the body, allowing warmth, moisture, and herbal properties to penetrate deeply into the tissues.
The combination of therapeutic heat and aromatic herbs can help:
-
Relax tense muscles
-
Ease aches and discomfort
-
Encourage healthy circulation
-
Support lymphatic flow
-
Promote deep relaxation and overall well-being
-
Complement energy line work used in traditional Thai healing arts
Many clients also find the distinct, earthy aroma to be deeply calming and restorative.
Enhance Your Massage
You can easily upgrade any massage session with this traditional heated compress therapy. Compresses are available for both in-studio sessions and retail purchase:
-
For Targeted Care: A single compress is perfect for local, concentrated relief on specific problem areas.
-
For Full-Body Flow: We highly recommend selecting a pair. Using two compresses simultaneously provides a balanced treatment, or allows them to be rotated in the steamer so one is always hot and ready for uninterrupted relief.
What to Expect
The compress may be applied directly to the skin or over clothing, depending on the treatment and your comfort level; both methods are highly effective.
Please Note: Please wear dark-colored clothing if receiving a Thai massage with herbal compresses, as the natural botanicals will cause permanent stains.
Reuse and Storage
Your herbal compress can typically be reused several times when properly cared for. Many clients receive 4 to 6 additional uses after the initial treatment.
-
In-Studio Storage: If you receive herbal compress treatments regularly, you may choose to store your compress in the studio freezer between sessions at no additional charge until it reaches the end of its usable life.
-
At-Home Storage: You may also take it home and store it in your own freezer for future use, to be used either frozen or steamed according to your preference.
I am honored to share in this beautiful, healing lineage as part of your wellness journey.
