It's my first massage, what can I expect?
First appointments begin with an intake process, starting with health history such as medical conditions, areas of concern, contact information, etc.
Don't be afraid to discuss any apprehensions or concerns. After the intake process, you will be shown into the dressing room/treatment room where you will be given proper instructions. After I step out of the room, you will be able to undress to your level of comfort and lie on the massage table under the sheets and blanket.
Get comfortable and relax until I step back into the room. You will be fully covered at all times, only the area that I am currently working on will be exposed.
If you would like the temperature or pressure adjusted please ask, this session is tailored specifically to you and these adjustments are very simple. At the end of the massage I will leave the room and allow you to come back into your body and re-dress, take your time.
What is the difference between a Swedish Massage and the Everything Zen Signature Massage?
A Swedish Massage is a completely relaxing massage, it incorporates long, flowing strokes using a light to moderate pressure to relax and detox the muscles.
Our Everything Zen Signature Massage is customized to your specific needs and incorporates deep tissue, forearm and Thai Massage techniques to help ease pain and tension by applying firm pressure, slow strokes and stretching to reach deeper layers of muscle and fascia.

Do I need to arrive early for my appointment?
Take your time and try to be in a calm state before your massage appointment, if you're rushing and arrive stressed it will take you longer to get into a relaxed state. If you are a new client, it's best to arrive about 10 minutes early to complete a health intake form. Arriving early will allow for your session to begin on time. Returning clients, plan to arrive about 5 minutes before your appointment to ensure your session begins on time. A later arrival may result in a shortened session.
What is Thai Massage and what should I expect during the session and after?
Thai Massage is an ancient tradition combining rhythmic compression, acupressure, stretching and sen line work (energy lines) to create a holistic approach to healing the body from the inside out.
The many benefits include: increased flexibility, increased circulation, stress reduction, helps to move stagnation in the body by dissolving energy blockages, strengthen joints, improved posture, balance and digestion.
The massage is performed on a mat on the floor wearing loose-fitting clothing. It's best not to eat a heavy meal prior to your massage, it can cause discomfort during the session. Light snacking is encouraged.
You do not have to be flexible to receive Thai Massage. Receiving this type of massage over a prolonged period of time will help improve flexibility.
Stay hydrated after your session, you may be a bit sore for a day or two afterwards (every body is different), rest as much as possible and take a bath if you're able.
What should I wear for Thai Massage?
Come dressed in comfortable, yoga-like wear (no jeans). If you are easily chilled, it's best to dress in layers so that clothing can be added or taken away if you are too cold/too warm.
Can my child receive massage?
Yes, children under the age of 18 are permitted to receive massage with written consent from the parent.
A parent must always be present with their child in the treatment room if they are 14 years of age and under. Clients 15-17 years of age may be in the treatment room by themselves if both the parent and client are comfortable.
